Clementine music player has a built-in feature allows to remotely control player using Android mobile over LAN (or WAN). All you need to do is enable this feature in the desktop player and install the official app ‘Clementine Remote’ on your phone. Today, I'm comparing to prominent audio players for Mac – VOX Music Player and Clementine according to their functionality, compatibility, format support, interface and additional features. You can control the playback using an Android device or a Wii remote.

New versions of Clementine require GStreamer 1.0 which wasn't included in Ubuntu 12.04. If you get errors installing Clementine you should add the GStreamer PPA as well:
